Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 5, 2026
Our Core Principle
100% Local Processing. All data processing happens entirely within your browser. We do not collect, transmit, store, or have access to any of your personal data. Period.
1. Introduction
Devsy ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our browser extension handles your data and respects your privacy rights.
By using Devsy, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not install or use the extension.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
Devsy is designed with privacy as the foundation. We do NOT collect:
❌Personal Information
No names, emails, addresses, or phone numbers
❌Browsing History
No tracking of websites you visit
❌Website Content
No storage of page data or user inputs
❌Cookies or Storage
No access to website cookies or local storage
❌Form Data
No collection of form inputs or passwords
❌Analytics
No usage statistics or tracking pixels
3. Local Data Storage
Devsy uses your browser's local storage API to save preferences and user-created content. This data never leaves your device.
⚙️Extension Preferences
Your settings and configurations (theme, default tools, etc.) are stored locally to provide a personalized experience.
📝Quick Notes
Notes you create using the Quick Notes feature are saved in your browser's local storage and remain on your device only.
✏️Saved Highlights
Text highlights you save on web pages are stored locally and are not transmitted anywhere.
💡 Note: You can clear all locally stored data at any time through your browser's extension settings or by uninstalling Devsy.
4. Browser Permissions Explained
Devsy requires certain browser permissions to function. Here's exactly why we need each one and how we use it:
activeTabAllows Devsy to interact with the currently active tab when you click the extension icon. Required for all inspection and analysis features.
scriptingEnables content script injection to analyze page elements, extract data, and provide inspection tools. All processing happens locally in your browser.
storageStores your preferences, notes, and highlights locally on your device. No data is synced to external servers.
cookiesAllows the Cookie Manager tool to view and manage cookies for debugging purposes. Does not transmit cookie data externally.
clipboardWriteEnables "Copy to Clipboard" functionality for tools like JSON Formatter, Color Picker, and CSS Inspector.
notificationsShows browser notifications for completed actions (e.g., "Copied to clipboard", "Analysis complete").
<all_urls>Required for Devsy to work on any website you visit. This is essential for a web inspection tool.
Why we need it: To inject content scripts for SEO analysis, form filling, color picking, and developer utilities on any domain. All processing happens locally.
5. Third-Party Services
Devsy does not use any third-party analytics, tracking, advertising, or data collection services. We do not integrate with external APIs or services that could access your data.
6. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your data with anyone because we don't collect it in the first place.
Since all processing happens locally in your browser, there is no data to share, no servers to breach, and no databases to hack.
7. Security
All data processing occurs locally within your browser using standard browser APIs. Your data never leaves your device, providing the highest level of security and privacy.
We follow industry best practices in extension development and regularly update Devsy to address any security vulnerabilities.
8. Your Privacy Rights
You have complete control over your data:
9. Children's Privacy
Devsy is intended for developers, designers, and professionals. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 years of age. Since we don't collect any data at all, this is inherently compliant.
10. International Users
Devsy can be used worldwide. Since all processing happens locally in your browser, there are no cross-border data transfers, and you remain in full compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy regulations.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
Continued use of Devsy after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
